Capturing high school homecoming portraits isn’t just about snapping a few quick photos—it’s about bringing out the personality and style of each student in a way that does their big night justice! This year, I took my gear to a whole new level, coming fully equipped to make sure these portraits had that wow factor. Some photographers show up with a camera, but a true pro comes with ALL the gear and knows how to make it work in any setting!
For these portraits, I brought two wireless Godox lights: an AD 400 and an AD 600 Pro, which, paired with a softbox and diffuser, allowed for a beautiful, even light. And to make sure everything stayed in sync, I used my Godox wireless trigger on my Nikon Z7II mirrorless camera body. The results? High-quality, dynamic portraits that truly stand out—no matter if they were taken under bright lights or near the shaded arches of a church or in a dim outdoor restaurant setting.
By adding the right lighting, I could control every aspect of the look and feel of the portraits, making sure these photos had that extra pop and didn’t fall flat. Whether you’re a parent looking to make sure your teen’s memories are captured just right or a fellow photographer thinking about expanding your on-location lighting setup, know that adding those extra elements can make a huge difference. And in this industry, every detail matters!
Let’s create portraits that match the excitement of your teen’s night—reach out if you’re ready to book! 📸✨
